Irish activists disrupt second event of Israeli company in a week

DUBLIN, Aug. 26 (YPA) – Pro-Palestinian activists in Dublin managed to disrupt a second event by the Israeli cybersecurity firm Check Point within a week after pressuring the management of the Beckett Lock Hotel to cancel hosting it.

Activists from the YTTD organization had previously canceled a similar event for the company at the Gibson Hotel. They said that Check Point tried to book the hall via a generic email to conceal its identity, but they exposed it and contacted the hotel management until the cancellation occurred.

The activists link the company to founders and former officers of the Israeli Unit 8200, which is associated with the use of surveillance and artificial intelligence technologies in Gaza, including the Lavender targeting system.

They considered the cancellation a victory for boycott campaigns, emphasizing the continuation of their actions against companies linked to the occupation and the war on Gaza.
