Gaza: 50 Palestinians laid to rest as death toll from Israeli genocidal war climbs to 73,417

GAZA, Aug. 20 (YPA) – Palestinians in Gaza City on Thursday laid to rest the bodies of 50 people recently recovered from under the rubble of homes destroyed in Israeli occupation strikes, amid ongoing violations of the Arab- and US-brokered ceasefire agreement signed in Sharm El-Sheikh for the 315th consecutive day.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported in its daily statistical briefing that 10 new deaths and 25 wounded individuals were admitted to hospitals across the Strip over the past 24 hours as a result of continuous Israeli violations. This brings the death toll since the truce took effect on October 11, 2025, to 1,283, with 4,248 injured, in addition to 813 bodies retrieved from under the debris.

The ministry confirmed that ambulance and civil defense teams remain unable to reach many victims still trapped under the rubble or on the streets. It noted that the cumulative toll of the Israeli genocidal war on the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023, has risen to 73,417 dead and 174,360 injured.
