Israeli occupation launches raids and artillery bombardment on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, Aug. 19 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces launched a series of air raids and artillery bombardments targeting several areas in southern Lebanon, particularly Nabatieh, Tyre, and Bint Jbeil.

The National News Agency reported that the occupation carried out bombings at dawn in the towns of Haddatha and Mansouri, and its artillery fired shells at the town of Majdal Zoun and the surrounding valleys.

It added that occupation aircraft dropped bombs over Tyre and Bint Jbeil in the early morning hours, coinciding with drone flights over the Litani River from Qasmiyeh to the Qaqaiyeh Bridge.

Warplanes also targeted the Ali Taher Heights on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Doha Kafr Rumman, the outskirts of Deir Siryan, and the towns of Baraachit and Qantara.

This comes despite the signing of a framework agreement between Beirut and Tel Aviv under US auspices on June 26, amidst the ongoing Israeli aggression against Lebanon since March 2, 2026, which has resulted in tens of thousands of martyrs and wounded.
