New Israeli incursion monitored into Quneitra countryside in southern Syria

DAMASCUS, Aug. 10 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces advanced into the Tel Abu Qubays area in the Quneitra countryside of southern Syria on Monday.

No details have yet been released regarding the nature of the operation or the vehicles involved, according to Syrian state television, which indicated that it was monitoring the situation on the ground.

This operation comes amid escalating Israeli incursions into southern Syria, where occupation forces periodically raid villages and towns in the Quneitra and Daraa governorates while some of these incursions are accompanied by the establishment of military checkpoints, house searches, and the detention of civilians.

For months, the region has witnessed repeated Israeli attacks, including raids, searches, and arrests. Israel intensified its activities in southern Syria following the overthrow of Bashar al-Assad’s regime in December 2014, declaring the collapse of the 1974 Disengagement Agreement before imposing its control over the buffer zone.

Syria continues to demand the withdrawal of the occupation from its territory, asserting that all its actions are null and void and have no legal effect under international law.
