Iran warns countries against serving as shield for United States

TEHRAN, Aug. 01 (YPA) – Major General Ali Abdollahi, the commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, warned that the United States is rapidly moving toward igniting a full-scale regional war in pursuit of expansion and regional dominance.

In a statement, the commander said Washington demonstrated during the recent conflict with Iran that it is willing to destroy Muslim interests, accusing the U.S. of using the wealth, infrastructure, and strategic resources of regional countries as a shield for its military and to support Israel’s military and security apparatus.

He added that Washington’s failure to achieve its objectives against Iran had pushed the U.S. military and Israel to wage wars from behind the territory of Islamic countries, forcing regional governments to bear the costs of the conflict.

The Iranian commander called on Islamic countries to reconsider their cooperation with the United States, warning that states that allow themselves to serve as America’s defensive shield could ultimately be consumed by the flames of war.
