IRGC Quds Force Commander calls on Saudi Arabia to end Yemen Blockade

TEHRAN, July 26 (YPA) – The commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Quds Force stressed that Saudi Arabia should learn from the United States’ costly and unwise actions and end the blockade of Yemen.

Brigadier General Esmail Qaani said in a statement on Saturday, cited by Fars News Agency, that lifting the 11-year blockade on Yemen is a legitimate and humane demand for the country’s oppressed people.

“It is expected that the Saudi government will learn from the experience of the United States’ irrational and costly behavior and bring an end to the blockade of a Muslim country with a population of more than 38 million people.”

He added: “The expectation of Muslims around the world from Saudi Arabia, which regards itself as the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is that instead of continuing war and pressure against an oppressed Muslim nation, it should direct its capabilities and resources toward supporting the Palestinian people and confronting the crimes of the Zionist regime.”

Qaani further stated: “Working to save the oppressed people of Gaza is a source of honor—not continuing the blockade of the oppressed people of Yemen.”
