Sanaa rebuts Riyadh’s narrative, reveals What Saudi Arabia seeks to hide

SANAA, July 23 (YPA) – Mohammed Abdulsalam, head of the Sanaa negotiating delegation, has rejected Saudi claims that it bears no responsibility for the blockade on Yemen, asserting that the facts on the ground clearly demonstrate Riyadh’s direct responsibility for the destruction of Sanaa International Airport and the travel restrictions that continue to severely hamper air travel to this day.

“Saudi Arabia initiated its aggression on Yemen by bombing Sana’a International Airport on March 26, 2015, destroying several aircraft and most of the airport’s facilities,” Mohammed Abdulsalam wrote on his X account.

He said the attack marked the beginning of a systematic campaign against Yemen’s civilian infrastructure from the first day of the war.

Abdulsalam added that the subsequent Israeli attack on the airport was merely an extension of the same approach taken by Saudi Arabia, accusing both of deliberately targeting civilian infrastructure while portraying such attacks as military achievements.

Questioning Riyadh’s narrative, Abdulsalam said: “Any party other than Saudi Arabia that seeks to impose a single destination to and from Sana’a International Airport, and then occupies the world with loudspeakers claiming it is not besieging Yemen?!”

He said the contradiction undermines Saudi claims and exposes what he described as the continuing blockade, which continues to affect millions of Yemenis.
