Emirati center warns Saudi crown prince, his brother of “coming catastrophe”

ABU DHABI, July 22 (YPA) – The head of the UAE’s Center for Political Studies, Khalid al-Shamiri, has warned Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman( MBS) and his brother, Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman, against being misled by Yemeni advisers working with the “Special Committee.”

Al-Shamiri said that the “handling of the Yemen file” requires the personal intervention of the two Saudi officials at this “sensitive stage” to avoid potentially “catastrophic consequences” for the Kingdom.

He added, ” The Saudi Foreign Ministry’s official statement denying that the Kingdom had imposed a blockade on Yemen may have originated from the “Special Committee,” which he accused of basing its decisions on Yemeni advisers driven by personal financial interests, with little concern for Yemen’s future or Saudi Arabia’s reputation.”

Al-Shamiri mocked the statement in a post on “X”, saying it denied a real and documented fact — the imposition of a blockade on Yemen — which he claimed had become known worldwide and could no longer be concealed.

The remarks came after Al-Shamiri called on Saudi Arabia in another post to announce its immediate withdrawal from the war in Yemen, saying the impact of the maritime blockade declared by Sanaa forces would only become apparent after the first vessel was targeted at sea.

He also warned against testing the patience of Sanaa forces, urging Saudi Arabia to take their threats seriously, saying: “Experience has shown that when they say something, they do it, and shouting will not help you, O lizard.”
