SANAA, July 21 (YPA) – Six vessels turned back in the Red Sea over the past 24 hours following warnings issued by the Yemeni Armed Forces and the enforcement of a maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia under the “blockade-for-blockade” equation, a military source at the Ministry of Defense in Sanaa announced on Tuesday evening.
In a related context, “Reuters” news agency reported that two tankers carrying Saudi oil reversed course in the Red Sea. The news agency indicated that shipping companies are receiving warning messages from Sanaa prohibiting the loading or unloading of cargo at Saudi ports, emphasizing that non-compliance would expose vessels to sanctions and targeting.
This comes after Sanaa-based armed forces announced that the maritime navigation ban on Saudi Arabia had taken effect, warning of a comprehensive and severe escalation in response to any escalatory measures from the Saudi side.
