SANAA, July 17 (YPA) – Large crowds gathered in Sanaa and other provinces on Friday in mass rallies expressing support for the Sanaa-based armed forces’ declared response strategy toward Saudi Arabia, endorsing the principle of “airports for airports, ports for ports, blockade for blockade, and escalation for escalation.”
In the rallies, hundreds of thousands of Yemenis reaffirmed support for lifting the blockade, ending the aggression, and continued mobilization.
The demonstrators chanted anti-Saudi slogans and gave the leadership a popular mandate to retaliate for a recent Saudi airstrike on Sanaa International Airport.
The crowds warned Saudi Arabia against continuing its military campaign and blockade, saying the Yemeni people’s patience had run out and that the time had come to secure their legitimate rights, recover national wealth, and achieve freedom and independence regardless of the sacrifices required.
Participants renewed their full mandate to the Houthi leadership and expressed readiness for what they described as a decisive battle in pursuit of freedom, dignity, and honor, while declaring preparedness to confront any further escalation by Saudi Arabia and its allies.
The rallies also voiced full support for the armed forces’ recent statement, describing it as reflecting the will of the Yemeni people to break the blockade and expel what they called aggression and occupation from Yemen, while reaffirming support for regional causes, particularly the Palestinian cause.
The participants said their message to Saudi Arabia and the international community was that the Yemeni people would continue backing their leadership in efforts to end the blockade, reclaim their legitimate rights and national resources, and end the war, while remaining committed to the path of freedom, dignity, and independence.
