TEHRAN, July 17 (YPA) – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)’s Navy said its units are maintaining full surveillance and oversight of U.S. naval deployments and preparations, warning that Washington is approaching the point at which Iranian operations could begin against naval units of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM).
The IRGC Navy released an image showing U.S. warships, stating that all American naval movements in the region are being closely monitored and that Iranian forces remain on high alert to respond to any escalation.
In a statement, the force said, “The Americans are drawing closer every moment to the zero hour for the start of our operations against CENTCOM naval units,” signaling its readiness to respond to any military action.
The warning came after IRGC Aerospace Force Commander Brig. Gen. Majid Mousavi said that “effective and targeted strikes against the enemy will continue from across the country until calm returns to the southern coast and the Strait of Hormuz.”
Earlier on Friday, Iran announced that areas in the country’s south had come under U.S. attack, with strikes targeting an airport, a railway station, and two bridges, killing three civilians.
Following the attack, the IRGC said it had launched operations against several U.S. military bases in the region, including Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, Al-Azraq Air Base in Jordan, and Al-Tanf Garrison in Syria, describing the strikes as a response to the U.S. escalation.
