Hamas condemns arrest of freed Palestinian prisoner Shaimaa Abu Ghali

GAZA, July 17 (YPA) – Hamas movement has condemned the Palestinian Authority’s security forces for arresting freed Palestinian prisoner and physician Shaimaa Abu Ghali from the city of Jenin and extending her detention, describing the move as a violation of national values and an affront to the sacrifices of Palestinian prisoners.

In a statement issued on Friday, the movement rejected the continued practice of political arrests, saying the pursuit of released prisoners through what it described as a “revolving door” policy serves the interests of the Israeli occupation, which it said continues to target the Palestinian people.

The statement called for the immediate release of Abu Ghali and all political detainees, an end to arrests based on political affiliation or opinion, and urged Palestinian factions and human rights organizations to intensify efforts to end political detentions and secure the freedom of those being held.
