BAGHDAD, July 17 (YPA) – The Iraqi Military Intelligence Directorate announced on Friday the arrest of five ISIS members during security operations in the provinces of Diyala, Kirkuk, and Nineveh, based on precise intelligence information.
In a statement, the directorate explained that its detachments carried out targeted operations that resulted in the arrest of wanted individuals in various areas of the three provinces, as part of ongoing efforts to track down members of the organization and enhance security and stability.
The statement confirmed that judicial arrest warrants had been issued against the detainees under Article 4 of the Counter-Terrorism Law, noting that they had been referred to the competent authorities to complete legal procedures.
These operations come within the framework of the Iraqi security forces’ continued pursuit of ISIS remnants and the dismantling of its cells to prevent attempts to revive its activity in various regions.
