SANAA, July 16 (YPA) – The Sanaa-based Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates strongly condemned on Thursday the continued U.S. war crimes against the Islamic Republic of Iran.
In a statement, the ministry denounced the U.S. strike targeting the vicinity of the Martyr Baqaei Children’s Hospital for cancer patients in Ahvaz, which forced Iranian authorities to evacuate the facility to safeguard the patients.
The statement described the incident as a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention of 1949 concerning the protection of civilians during wartime.
It asserted that the United States’ hands are “stained with the blood of Iranian children,” describing the incident as an extension of previous U.S. actions, including the Minab Girls’ Primary School massacre, which resulted in the deaths of more than 165 schoolgirls.
The ministry’s statement called on the international community, particularly the UN Security Council and international human rights organizations, to condemn the heinous crime, arguing that silence over such incidents has encouraged the United States to continue committing them.
It also urged those who advocate for human rights to raise their voices and abandon a policy of double standards.
