NEW JERSEY, July 15 (YPA) – United Airlines sparked controversy after asking a Palestinian-American passenger to change his T-shirt, which read: “Bombing children is not self-defense,” and threatening to prevent him from traveling if he refused to comply.
Passenger Sam Saada, a resident of New Jersey, said he was surprised when the flight crew demanded he either change his shirt or leave the flight during his flight from Atlanta to Newark Liberty last month, after a flight attendant deemed the phrase “offensive.”
He confirmed that he was eventually forced to change his shirt to continue his journey.
A statement from the company to Fox News read: “The passenger traveled on schedule after changing his shirt. That’s all we have to say on the matter.”
