GAZA, July 15 (YPA) — The Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), denied on Wednesday a report published days ago by the Saudi-owned newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat regarding the former Commander-in-Chief of the brigades, the late Mohammed Deif (Abu Khaled).
In an official statement, the Al-Qassam Brigades said, “We deny the accuracy of the information published in the Asharq Al-Awsat report concerning the martyred Commander-in-Chief Mohammed Deif.” The group emphasized that the report does not rely on any official source within the resistance, urging media outlets to verify their information and maintain accuracy.
The brigades further stressed that its military media is the sole authorized source for all news and statements related to the Al-Qassam Brigades.
Asharq Al-Awsat had published a report on July 13—marking the anniversary of Deif’s death—claiming to cite sources within Hamas.
