NEW YORK, July 11 (YPA) – The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Friday that the continued Israeli military operations in refugee camps across the West Bank, increasing movement restrictions, demolitions, settlement expansion, and settler violence have led to the displacement of more Palestinians, heightened protection risks, and increased restrictions on access to housing, livelihoods, and essential services.
OCHA stated that, since the beginning of this month, demolition operations have displaced 67 people and destroyed 24 structures, including two donor-funded facilities established to support vulnerable Palestinians. It added that settler attacks and demolition operations since the beginning of the year have displaced more than 3,200 Palestinians, averaging 17 people per day—double the daily average recorded during the previous three years.
Regarding Gaza, OCHA cited the World Central Kitchen as saying that Israeli forces killed a driver working for one of its logistics partners while transporting humanitarian aid from the Karem Abu Salem crossing to the organization’s warehouse in Gaza.
The organization called for a comprehensive investigation and accountability for those responsible for the killing.
OCHA reiterated that civilians and civilian infrastructure must be protected under international humanitarian law.
