OCCUPIED AL-QUDS, July 09 (YPA) – The Hebrew Broadcasting Authority revealed that the Israeli occupation is refusing to renew the water agreement with Jordan, whose main clauses were included in the peace agreement and stipulate that Jordan receive additional quantities of water at reduced prices.
The Authority said that the agreement has not yet been signed, and there are currently no expectations of its completion, which has sparked anger in Jordan and prompted Israeli sources to talk about the possibility of a Jordanian response.
It quoted a Jordanian official as saying, “The water issue is extremely important to us, and it is also part of the peace agreement.”
The Authority indicated that this position reflects the Jordanian side’s displeasure at the transformation of the water file, which for years remained outside political disputes, into a “bargaining chip” from the Israeli perspective.
