TEHRAN, July 06 (YPA) – Iran’s Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf said during a meeting with Mohammed Al-Nuaimi, a member of Yemen’s Supreme Political Council, that Iran andthe “Axis of Resistance” had stood firm against the United States and Israeli entity, while praising Yemen’s support for the resistance alliance.
Ghalibaf said the current phase requires stronger cooperation among Islamic countries and efforts to free the region from U.S. and Israeli dominance. He also commended the resilience of the Yemeni people in the face of measures he characterized as violations of international law.
He said the recent understanding had compelled the United States and Israeli enemy to acknowledge Iran’s allies in the “Axis of Resistance,” describing it as a defeat for Washington and a strategic, military, and political achievement for the alliance.
Ghalibaf added that the United States and Israeli occupation had failed to achieve their objectives during the conflict and ultimately turned to mediators to seek a ceasefire.
He noted that more than 70 percent of global trade passes through the Strait of Hormuz, the Suez Canal, and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, adding that Tehran has worked to strengthen transparent and constructive relations with regional countries following the recent understanding.
He also said Sana’a has consistently supported resistance groups and has stood alongside Gaza, Lebanon, and the Palestinian cause under various circumstances.
For his part, Al-Nuaimi said Yemen and Iran stand together in defense of the Islamic nation, adding that Yemen’s leadership considers support for Iran a shared responsibility.
He said Yemen draws inspiration from the legacy of the “martyred leader” as well as the example of Imam Hussein, reaffirming Yemen’s willingness to expand diplomatic cooperation.
Al-Nuaimi added that the country remains fully prepared to take defensive action if diplomatic efforts fail to produce results.
