Hamas says Israeli occupation’s claims aim to justify continued Gaza offensive

GAZA, July 06 (YPA) – Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said on Sunday that recent Israeli statements alleging that the movement is accelerating the rebuilding of its military capabilities in terms of personnel and weapons constitute “clear incitement” intended to justify the ongoing military offensive in the Gaza Strip.

In a press statement, Qassem said Israeli occupation is seeking to justify what he described as its daily killings, arguing that such statements amount to a violation of the ceasefire agreement, according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency.

He called on media organizations to exercise caution when reporting information from Israeli sources, particularly on issues that, he said, include direct incitement against the Palestinian resistance and the residents of Gaza.

Qassem also reaffirmed that Hamas’ and other Palestinian resistance factions’ full commitment to the Gaza ceasefire agreement, urging mediators and guarantor states to intervene to compel Israeli occupation to halt its ongoing violations of the agreement.
