Israeli artillery shells agricultural areas in Syria south

DAMASCUS, July 03 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation military shelled on Thursday agricultural fields surrounding the village of Jamla in the western countryside of Daraa, southern Syria, with heavy artillery, heightening tensions in the area.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said in a statement that the artillery bombardment coincided with intensive flights by Israeli occupation’s reconnaissance aircraft over the targeted area following the shelling. No information has yet emerged regarding casualties or the extent of the damage.

The statement said the latest incident comes amid recurring tensions in parts of southern Syria as a result of continued Israeli military attacks.

According to the statement, the occupation has carried out 43 attacks on Syrian territory since the beginning of the year, including 2 airstrikes and 41 ground attacks.

The aggressive attacks reportedly killed five people, injured others, and destroyed around 13 targets, including remnants of weapons and ammunition depots, headquarters, military positions, and vehicles.
