Israeli occupation operations, Zionist settler assaults escalate across West Bank amid raids, arrests

WEST BANK, June 30 (YPA) – Israeli occupation forces and Zionist settlers escalated military operations across several governorates in the northern and southern West Bank on Tuesday, conducting a series of coordinated incursions, assaults, and arrests.

In the southern governorate of Hebron, Israeli occupation forces executed a sweeping incursion into the town of Yatta, raiding multiple residential homes. According to local media activist Osama Makhamreh, Israeli troops deployed earthen mounds to block secondary roads and utilized concrete blocks to close the main arterial route connecting Yatta and Al-Samu, heavily disrupting the movement of local residents and civilian vehicles.

In a separate action north of Hebron, Israeli forces confiscated several vehicles during a raid into the town of Halhul. In the central West Bank, Israeli troops entered the town of Beitunia, west of Ramallah, pre-dawn on Tuesday, arresting 24-year-old Anas Awadallah following a search of his family home.

Palestinian sources reported that additional large-scale military units moved into Abwein to the north, initiating widespread home searches. Similar incursions were documented in the western villages of Kharbatha al-Misbah and Kharbatha Bani Harith, though no further arrests were immediately confirmed. Concurrently, in the northern town of Sinjil, Israeli forces compelled local merchants to shutter their businesses during an operation in the area.

In the Nablus Governorate, Israeli settlers conducted incursions into the Al-Dhahra area on the outskirts of Beita, south of the city, and carried out provocative tours in the plains of Beit Furik to the east.

Local residents reportedly organized to counter a separate settler entry into the Al-Harayeq area of Beita. Mirroring these developments, Israeli military forces advanced into the eastern sector of Nablus via the Awarta checkpoint, entering the Balata refugee camp, while illumination flares were deployed over Faku’a, east of Jenin.

Further north, an Israeli foot patrol searched a residence in the Al-Jabriyat neighborhood near the Jenin refugee camp, alongside a military deployment into Ya’bad. In the Tubas Governorate, settlers entered residential structures in the Ras al-Ahmar area of Tammun, while military entries were recorded in Jit, east of Qalqilya, and the Al-Aruj area of Jannatah, east of Bethlehem.

These almost daily attacks and raids, along with the accompanying acts of property destruction and arrests, come within the framework of the ongoing escalation policy of the occupation forces and settlers in the occupied Palestinian territories.
