Six sentenced to death in Sanaa for murder of “Al-Kayal”, his wife

SANAA, June 30 (YPA) – The Court of South-East Capital Secretariat in Sanaa, presided over by Judge Jaber Al-Mughales and in the presence of Prosecutor Judge Abdulkhaleq Al-Muhaqiri, issued its verdict on Tuesday in the case of the murder of Hisham Hamid Al-Kayal and his wife, Asma Abdu Al-Dhubaibi, on Khawlan Street.

The court ruled the following:

  • Convicting Mohammad Ahmad Ali Mujalli, Mutee Mohammad Ahmad Mujalli, Anwar Qaed Ali Al-Hadhari, Radman Ali Ahmad Mujalli, Ahmad Mohammad Al-Hadhari, and Ali Mohammad Al-Hadhari of premeditated murder and aggression, sentencing them to death by firing squad.
  • Acquitting Adel Mohammad Ahmad Mujalli of the charges brought against him, ordering his immediate release.
  • Confiscating the seized assets of the six convicts in favor of the state treasury, and ordering them jointly and severally to pay 10 million Yemeni Rials in compensation to the victims’ next of kin (including the two children, Anas and Humaid), in addition to 3 million Rials for litigation expenses.

Following the pronouncement of the verdict, the court recorded the convicts’ request to appeal. The prosecution had brought the defendants to trial for premeditated plotting, tracking the victims with two cars and a motorcycle, and opening fire on them inside their vehicle in front of their children on December 17, 2025, which resulted in their deaths and the injury of one child.
