Arab countries condemn Israeli incursions, attacks in southern Syria

DAMASCUS, June 29 (YPA) – Arab countries, including Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Qatar, alongside the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), have condemned the continuous Israeli assaults and incursions into Syrian territory.

The latest of these actions involved artillery shelling and machine-gun fire targeting the village of “Abdeen” and its surroundings in the countryside of Daraa Governorate.  The countries reaffirmed their categorical rejection of any violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, while calling for an end to the escalation and adherence to international law.

On the ground, local sources and Syrian media reported the return of Abdeen’s residents to their homes following a wave of temporary displacement forced by the Israeli occupation’s shelling, which caused material damage. This return coincided with the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from their positions on “Tell al-Mughr.”

This escalation comes amid growing concerns over the expansion of tension in southern Syria due to ongoing Israeli military operations.
