Germany: 4,096 cases of discrimination and attacks recorded against Muslims in 2025, including 224 physical assaults
BERLIN, June 27 (YPA) – The German anti-Islamophobia network CLAIM announced an alarming rise in cases of attacks and discrimination against Muslims in Germany during 2025.
During a press conference in Berlin, the network revealed that it had recorded 4,096 incidents, including verbal discrimination, threats, insults, and 224 direct physical assaults.
It explained that the statistics were collected from counseling centers in 15 states, civic initiatives, police records, and media reports, suggesting that the actual number is likely higher due to the underreporting of many cases, especially in schools and official institutions.
CLAIM warned of the normalization of discrimination and the decline in victims’ trust in complaint mechanisms, noting that two-thirds of the victims are women, with an increase in violent attacks.
The report attributed some of the incidents to far-right groups, warning of the rise of anti-Muslim rhetoric in political circles, and considering that portraying them as a “potential threat” increases societal tension.
