Satellite imagery shows large oil storage tank fire at Saudi Arabia’s Jizan refinery

JIZAN, Aug. 11 (YPA) – Recent satellite imagery released on Tuesday shows a large oil storage tank on fire at the Jizan refinery in southern Saudi Arabia, following a recent operation conducted by Sanaa-based forces.

Newly released satellite images:

The imagery comes after Saudi Aramco announced on Monday a two-week postponement of the tentative target date to restart the Jizan oil refinery. The delay indicates ongoing impacts from damage sustained during an attack on the facility in late July.

According to a report by “Reuters” citing a notice from Industrial Info Resources (IIR), an energy market research firm, the new expected date for resuming refinery operations has been set for August 30, 2026, shifting from the previously scheduled mid-August timeline.
