Sanaa warns UN over dangers of Israeli presence in Somaliland
SANAA, June 22 (YPA) – Sanaa’s military leadership has issued a stark warning to the United Nations regarding what it described as a “dangerous” Israeli presence in the so-called “Somaliland,” considering it a direct threat to regional security and a hostile military posture against Yemen and the region.
The warning was delivered by Major General Ali Hamoud Al-Moshki, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, during a high-level meeting with the military advisor to the UN Special Envoy to Yemen.
According to official military statements, Major General Al-Moshki emphasized that any such foreign military footprint in the Horn of Africa could serve as a “flashpoint,” threatening to destabilize the region and severely disrupting maritime security across vital shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.
Sanaa officials urged the United Nations to recognize the possible global impacts of these events, stating that keeping the seas safe is closely connected to stopping foreign military build-ups along nearby coastlines.
