Iran reveals navigation arrangements in Strait of Hormuz under MoU

TEHRAN, June 19 (YPA) – The Supreme National Security Council of Iran has announced directives for the Persian Gulf waterways management to prioritize and expeditiously process transit requests, in alignment with the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The Council emphasized that vessels must strictly adhere to their designated routes and schedules to facilitate a gradual increase in maritime traffic, noting that the Persian Gulf Waterways Authority will later announce the technical details and implementation arrangements for transit through the Strait of Hormuz.

It added that necessary measures regarding other issues, including mine clearance, will be taken in accordance with Paragraph 5 of the MoU.
