DHAMAR, June 14 (YPA) – Seismic monitoring stations recorded a mild earthquake on Sunday evening measuring 2.9 on the Richter scale east of the city of Ma’bar in Dhamar province, central Yemen.
According to a bulletin issued by the Center for Monitoring and Studying Earthquakes and Volcanoes, the tremor occurred at 9:30 p.m. east of the city, the administrative center of Jahran district.
The earthquake’s epicenter was recorded at a depth of 8 kilometers.
The center explained that the tremor is scientifically classified as a minor and routine seismic event, similar to those regularly detected by its monitoring stations in the region.
