OTTAWA, June 13 (YPA) – The public events before the start of the joint USA, Canada, and Mexico World Cup in Toronto, Canada, turned into a platform for solidarity with Palestine.
Thousands of fans of the Bosnian national team gathered in the city center before the opening match against Canada, marching through the streets waving Palestinian flags and chanting “Palestine” and “Freedom for Palestine.”
Circulating videos showed large crowds expressing their support for the cause, giving the celebratory atmosphere of the tournament a political dimension.
This step comes as an extension of previous stances by Bosnian fans who used sporting events to express their solidarity with the Palestinian people, which sparked widespread interaction and added a different character to the World Cup opening.
