DHALEA, June 13 (YPA) – Yemen’s civil defense rescue teams recovered the body of 30-year-old Antar Al-Absi on Saturday from a volcanic crater in the Damt district of Dhalea province.
According to a source in the civil defense department, the recovery operation was conducted under extremely challenging conditions due to the crater’s rugged terrain, significant depth, and high temperatures.
The source said rescue personnel and specialized teams carried out extensive efforts before successfully locating and retrieving the body.
Following the incident, local authorities in the province renewed calls for visitors and adventure seekers to exercise caution and follow safety instructions when visiting volcanic and other hazardous natural sites.
Officials emphasized the importance of adhering to public safety guidelines to help prevent similar accidents in the future.
