Sanaa announces academic calendar for upcoming 1448 AH (2026/2027) school year
SANAA — The Ministry of Education and Scientific Research in Sanaa has announced the academic calendar for the upcoming 1448 AH (2026/2027) school year, with classes scheduled to commence for all educational levels on June 20, 2026 (Muharram 5, 1448 AH).
According to the state-run Saba News Agency, student enrollment and registration in both public and private schools began on Saturday, June 6.
The Minister of Education and Scientific Research, Hassan Al-Saadi, stated that teaching and administrative staff are required to report to schools starting June 13 (Dhu al-Hijjah 27). The academic year will operate on a five-day school week, in accordance with Ministerial Decree No. 100 for the year 1447 AH (2026).
