ISLAMABAD, May 24 (YPA) – Pakistan is preparing to make a surprise announcement within the coming hours regarding a major breakthrough and a positive agreement in the ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States.
“Al-Mayadeen” news channel reported that Pakistani Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Army Chief Asim Munir are expected to announce a 4-point agreement tomorrow, Monday, following statements from both Ishaq Dar and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif confirming significant, optimistic progress.
In a parallel development, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio hinted from New Delhi at potential “good news” regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency disclosed details of the potential understanding, which includes resuming ship navigation through the Strait within 30 days in exchange for a gradual lift of the naval blockade on Iran, the release of frozen Iranian assets, and a temporary suspension of oil sanctions—all while postponing the nuclear file without any concessions from Tehran.
The preliminary understandings also reportedly include halting the war on various fronts, including Lebanon, and a gradual withdrawal of US forces from Iran’s periphery.
