Saudi military movements carry out under umbrella of US, “Tel Aviv” in Red Sea

ADEN, May 24 (YPA) – Saudi forces are executing extensive military maneuvers to enhance their influence over the Red Sea and the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Observers interpreted this as a strategic repositioning by Riyadh, directed and planned by Washington and “Tel Aviv”, following the UAE’s withdrawal from the region.

Sources familiar with the matter said that Riyadh has begun funding key projects to rehabilitate and complete military docks and ports in Yemen’s Hanish archipelago and the strategically important Island of Zughr in the Red Sea.

The sources also confirm that Saudi Arabia is mobilizing thousands of militants from radical Salafi factions, including “Dera al-Watan” and “Emergency Forces,” toward Yemen’s western coastal provinces of Lahj and Taiz.

Military reinforcements continue to be recruited from the Al Wadia border outlet towards Aden to these coastal areas.

Analysts believe Saudi Arabia is preparing for a new phase of confrontation with Yemeni forces in Sanaa to secure military control over the Bab al-Mandab Strait.

Since January, Riyadh’s military moves have reflected the execution of American-Zionist interests via Saudi Arabia, aiming to establish a new military reality that ensures American and Israeli dominance over international navigation while exerting pressure on Yemeni forces in Sanaa.

This strategy aligns with London and Washington’s efforts to support Tel Aviv by adjusting regional power balances, as outlined in the “Maritime Security Conference” held in Riyadh with British backing in mid-September.

The conference demonstrated a coordinated push by the U.S., U.K., and Israel for Saudi Arabia to become the primary military actor in the Red Sea after prior international coalitions failed to halt Yemeni military operations supporting Gaza during the Battle of Al-Aqsa Flood.

These operations severely disrupted Zionist shipping and led to the closure of the Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat) port.

Saudi Arabia’s recent military actions followed its acquisition last January of airstrips formerly controlled by UAE forces, particularly in the Bani al-Hakam area of Dhubab area near the Bab al-Mandab Strait and the Mayun Island at the strait’s center.

Additionally, Riyadh is working to regain influence in western Taiz and Lahj through soft power—funding service projects and distributing food aid to win loyalty in coastal areas previously under Abu Dhabi’s control until December.

Concurrently, Saudi forces continue efforts to dismantle pro-UAE leadership within Al-Amaliqa factions under the guise of structuring.
