ICC issues arrest warrants for Israeli officials

OCCUPIED QUDS, May 17 (YPA) – The Israeli newspaper Haaretz quoted a diplomatic source stating that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has expanded the scope of arrest warrants issued within the context of its ongoing investigations.

The court has reportedly issued secret arrest warrants for five Israeli officials, including politicians and two senior military officials, without specifying the issuance date or disclosing their identities.

These secret warrants serve as a continuation of the procedures issued in November 2024 against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant.

Reports indicated that court prosecutors were previously considering the prosecution of Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, regarding files related to settlements and the Gaza war.

Israeli media emphasized that this move places the court’s member states under a legal obligation to handle and execute the arrest warrants against the concerned officials, despite their names not being officially disclosed yet.
