Israeli aggression pushes Lebanon death toll to 2,988

BEIRUT, May 17 (YPA) – About 2,988 civilians have been killed and 9,210 wounded as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression on Lebanon since March 2, according to figures released Sunday by the Lebanese Ministry of Health.

In its daily statistical report, published through Lebanon’s National News Agency, the ministry said that 19 people were killed and 98 others wounded during the past 24 hours due to the continued Israeli aggressive attacks.

Lebanese authorities affirmed that the Israeli occupation’s strikes have intensified since early March, targeting towns, villages, cities, and civilian infrastructure across the country.

The aggression has displaced around 1.5 million people, many of whom remain outside official shelter centers.

Although a temporary ceasefire agreement entered into force in mid-April, Lebanese officials accuse Israeli forces of continuing to carry out daily violations through ongoing Israeli airstrikes.
