Saudi-backed commander killed in Sanaa forces’ clash in Lahj

LAHJ, Sept. 30 (YPA) – A senior commander of Saudi-backed factions was killed on Wednesday by Sanaa armed forces as they repelled a military escalation attempt in Lahj province.

A military source said the commander of the so-called Second Battalion of the 13th Thunderbolt Brigade, Saeed Asaad Saleh Al-Radfani, was killed and several others wounded while attempting to advance toward Sanaa forces’ positions on the Karsh–Hammala front.

The source explained that Sanaa forces thwarted the advance and mounted a forceful response, inflicting heavy losses in personnel and military equipment on the attacking forces.
