Six killed in Israeli occupation airstrikes on southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, May 15 (YPA) – Six Lebanese civilians were killed and several others injured on Friday in a series of Israeli occupation’s airstrikes targeting areas in southern Lebanon, amid continued violations of the ceasefire agreement.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, an Israeli drone carried out two strikes targeting a vehicle near the Al-Husseini Club in the city of Nabatieh, killing Mohammed Ahmed Abu Zeid and Jamal Noureddine, while injuring a third person. The victims were in the area delivering humanitarian assistance.

The agency added that the strike also damaged three ambulances belonging to Nabatieh’s emergency services, including one vehicle that was completely destroyed.

In a separate incident, another occupation drone strike targeted the western road near the industrial zone in the town of Kfarman, injuring one person.

Additionally, four people were killed in an airstrike on a house in the town of Harouf after the occupation’s warplanes bombed the building and destroyed it completely.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Hiram Hospital, Dr. Salman Aidibi, told the National News Agency that two nurses sustained minor injuries following an Israeli strike near the hospital’s emergency aid center.

He added that the hospital received seven injured people in stable condition, while the blast caused damage to windows and sections of the hospital’s interior ceilings.

Since early March, Israeli strikes on southern Lebanon have intensified, targeting towns, villages, and civilian infrastructure, according to Lebanese authorities. The escalation has led to thousands of casualties and the displacement of approximately 1.5 million people.

Although a temporary ceasefire came into effect in mid-April, Lebanese officials accuse Israeli forces of carrying out repeated daily violations through continued airstrikes and shelling operations.
