Syrian civilian killed by Turkish border guards near Kobani

DAMASCUS, May 14 (YPA) – A Syrian young man was killed this morning  by Turkish border guards (Jandarma), in a new shooting incident along the Syria-Turkey border, amid mounting human rights criticism over the continued targeting of civilians in frontier areas, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported.

According to SOHR sources, the victim hailed from Al-Hader town in the southern countryside of Aleppo, was shot dead while attempting to sneak into Turkish territory near Kobani city in eastern Aleppo.

Since early 2026, the Syrian Observatory has documented the death of six civilians in gunfire by Turkish border guards (Jandarma), while attempting to sneak into Turkish territory from north-east Syria.
