Araghchi reveals Pentagon’s lies about costs of US aggression on Iran

TEHRAN, May 01 (YPA) – Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that what he described as the “adventure” of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has imposed significant financial costs on the United States.

In a post published Friday on the platform X, Araghchi affirmed that the direct cost to Washington has reached approximately $100 billion—four times higher than officially announced figures—while accusing the Pentagon of underreporting the true expenses.

He added that indirect costs borne by American taxpayers are even higher, estimating that the monthly burden per U.S. household has reached around $500 and continues to rise.

Araghchi also criticized U.S. policy toward Israeli entity, saying that the slogan “Israel First” ultimately translates into “America Last.”

According to Iranian accounts, tensions escalated following a 40-day conflict that began on February 28, involving U.S. and Israeli military operations against Iran, which Tehran says caused widespread damage and civilian casualties.
