Islamic Jihad: Attack on “Freedom Flotilla” is organized terrorism, Int’l Piracy

GAZA, April 30 (YPA) – The Palestinian Islamic Jihad movement condemned on Thursday the Israeli occupation navy’s attack on the “Global Sumud Flotilla” (Freedom Flotilla) in international waters near Crete, describing the incident as “a new chapter in a record of piracy and organized terrorism.”

In a press statement, the movement asserted that the assault—which targeted civilian vessels and unarmed activists—represents the “true face of Israeli barbarism.” It noted that occupation forces utilized machine guns and laser sights to intimidate and detain activists at sea.

Furthermore, the movement refuted the occupation government’s claims aimed at justifying the aggression, considering the crime a reflection of the entity’s moral decay and its defiance of international law. It concluded by paying tribute to the flotilla participants who “embodied the true face of humanity” in confronting the blockade on Gaza.
