STC leader calls for revolt against Saudi policies

SHABWA, April 27 (YPA) – A senior figure in the dissolved Southern Transitional Council (STC) has called on all factions aligned with the body to rebel and reject recent Saudi decisions, accusing Riyadh of seeking to fragment and dismantle those groups.

Lahmar Ali Laswad, head of the STC branch in Shabwa province, said in a post on X that there is no longer any doubt about the “malicious plans” led by Saudi Arabia.

He claimed that Riyadh’s moves are aimed directly at breaking up STC forces and weakening their influence.

Laswad warned that integrating STC-affiliated forces with other units led by figures linked to the Muslim Brotherhood (Islah Party) would be “catastrophic,” particularly as the group is awaiting a possible designation by the United States as a terrorist organization.

He concluded his remarks with a direct call for allied factions to firmly reject all regional efforts to dismantle southern forces, signaling the possibility of an imminent political and military escalation in response to recent Saudi policies.
