Iran’s FM discusses with Pakistan’s PM strengthening bilateral ties, commends mediation to end war

ISLAMABAD, April 25 (YPA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met on Saturday in Islamabad with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir.

The high-level meetings focused on bolstering bilateral relations and discussing the latest regional developments.

Araghchi outlined Tehran’s principled position on achieving a permanent end to hostilities, expressing appreciation for Pakistan’s mediation efforts to secure a ceasefire and counter external aggression.

Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to comprehensive cooperation, aligning with the Iranian leadership’s policy of prioritizing relations with neighboring countries, particularly Pakistan.

The discussions emphasized condemnation of atrocities in Palestine and Israeli aggression against Lebanon, stressing the importance of coordination within international organizations to serve mutual interests.

General Asim Munir expressed Pakistan’s readiness to sustain its mediation role until desired outcomes are achieved, amid reports highlighting Islamabad’s role in facilitating regional and international understandings to de-escalate tensions in West Asia.
