BEIRUT, April 07 (YPA) – Lebanon’s Hezbollah announced on Tuesday that it had carried out a series of intensive military operations targeting positions and troop concentrations of the Israeli enemy’s army, as well as settlements in the northern areas of the occupied Palestinian territories, amid ongoing border escalation.
In a statement, the party’s fighters said it engaged an Israeli warplane over the Western Bekaa using a surface-to-air missile. It also reported targeting two military helicopters over the town of Al-Bayada, forcing them to withdraw. The statement further noted that a Merkava tank was directly hit during the operations.
According to the statement, the attacks included rocket and artillery shelling of Israeli troop gatherings and military vehicles in several border towns, including Taiba, Al-Bayada, Rashaf, and Beit Lev, with confirmed casualties reported among the targeted forces.
It added that it expanded the scope of its operations to include settlements in northern occupied Palestine, striking areas such as Nahariya, Kiryat Shmona, Shlomi, Even Menachem, Natua, and Kfaryuval, in addition to the settlement of Metula, which it said was targeted four times during the day.
Hezbollah also reported targeting Israeli military infrastructure in the settlement of Karmiel, as well as shelling a military force east of the Khiam detention center, stressing that its operations would continue in response to what it described as Israeli aggression.
