SANAA, April. 03 (YPA) – The Iranian Foreign Ministry demanded that two Gulf states provide explanations regarding a drone shot down by Iranian air defenses over the city of Shiraz, asserting that only these two countries possess this type of aircraft in the region.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei stated in a post on the “X” platform that the Iranian armed forces were able to shoot down the drone, considering the incident as potentially further evidence of the involvement of some countries in the region in supporting the American-Israeli aggression against Iran.
He added that Tehran awaits an official explanation from the two countries that use this type of aircraft, attaching photos of the downed drone.
In this context, media outlets reported that the drone was a Chinese-made Wing Loong II model, used by both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, and not part of the United States’ arsenal.
