BAGHDAD, April 02 (YPA) – The Iraqi Ministry of Oil announced on Thursday the commencement of black oil exports via land tankers through Syrian territory.
This strategic move serves as an alternative route following supply disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz, triggered by the repercussions of the US-“Israeli” aggression on Iran.
According to an official statement, the ministry reached an agreement with Syrian authorities to secure the passage of shipments across their borders to export terminals, ensuring a steady flow to global markets.
The ministry further emphasized export operations via this route will scale up in the coming period, with the aim of mitigating the impact of the current crisis on the national economy.
The plan responds to escalating regional tensions affecting global energy movement.
This measure highlights Baghdad’s commitment to securing rapid and effective alternatives to maintain oil export stability after the disruption of one of the world’s most vital maritime corridors.
