ADEN, April 02 (YPA) – A young man was killed under mysterious circumstances two days after his abduction in the city of Aden, which is under the control of pro-Saudi forces.
According to human rights and media sources, Abdulrahman al-Alimi,, who hails from Taiz province, died inside al-Sulban prison run by the “Security Belt” factions. He was found dead shortly after being detained, with no clear or convincing official explanation provided regarding the circumstances of his death.
Activists from Taiz have called on the authorities in Aden to launch an immediate and transparent investigation to uncover the details of the incident, expressing skepticism toward claims that the victim died by suicide through hanging following his arrest.
They further indicated that, based on circulating reports, al-Alimi was subjected to severe abuses, including psychological and physical torture during his detention, criticizing a lack of transparency and delays in disclosing the truth to the public.
The incident came amid repeated allegations against the “Security Belt” factions, led by Jalal al-Rubaie, of involvement in abuses against detainees and forcibly disappeared individuals, including earlier assassination cases that have stirred widespread controversy in recent times.
