Saudi Arabia reinstates pro-Islah Party military commander to Aden

ADEN, April 01 (YPA) – The Commander of the 4th Presidential Protection Brigade loyal to Islah Party, Brigadier General Mahran Al-Qubati, arrived in Aden on Wednesday coming from the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

This marks his first return to the city since departing following the events of August 2019.

Informed sources reported that Al-Qubati’s return was coordinated by Saudi authorities. Upon his arrival, he was escorted to his residence in the northern part of the city under heavy security measures.

Reports indicate that this return is part of military arrangements overseen by the Ministry of Defense, aimed at reactivating the role of military leadership within the Saudi-backed government in Aden.

This is Brigadier General Al-Qubati’s first return since the armed clashes in the city nearly six years ago, which resulted in the departure of several government-aligned military leaders to neighboring governorates.
