Between “genocide guillotine” and displacement… West Bank camps face spatial liquidation plan

WEST BANK, March 29 (YPA) – The Israeli occupation army continues to escalate its widespread aggression against the West Bank, systematically targeting cities, villages and camps, specifically in Jenin, Tulkarm and their surroundings since late January.

This Israeli military escalation comes within the framework of the “scorched earth” policy that has caused an unprecedented humanitarian catastrophe, represented by the displacement of thousands of citizens and the destruction of infrastructure, amid international silence regarding the crimes committed against defenseless civilians and their property.

Tulkarm: A renewed Nakba and mass displacement

Official data indicates that the Israeli war machine caused the displacement of more than 5,000 families from the Tulkarm and Nur Shams camps, after turning them into an open battlefield.

The matter was not limited to displacement, but the destruction extended to at least 400 homes completely and 2,573 homes partially, in a clear attempt to make these camps areas devoid of life and uninhabitable, by closing their entrances and imposing a suffocating siege that isolates them from the outside world.

Jenin: 159 days of steadfastness and destruction

In the city of Jenin, the Israeli aggression entered its 159th consecutive day, leaving a tragic scene, as the occupation forces completely demolished more than 600 homes inside the camp, in addition to dozens of partially damaged homes that now threaten the lives of their residents.

This systematic destruction did not stop at the stone, but claimed the lives of 40 Palestinian citizens and caused more than 200 injured, in addition to the arrest campaigns that affected dozens of the city’s residents and its camp.

Palestinian journalist Mohammed Shaheen told the Yemeni Press Agency that “what is happening in the camps in the northern West Bank is not just a military operation, but a desperate attempt to eradicate the Palestinian presence by destroying the foundations of survival and tightening the siege.”

A catastrophic humanitarian situation

The people in these areas are facing extremely complex humanitarian conditions. The devastated neighborhoods lack even the most basic necessities such as water, electricity, and paved roads, due to the deliberate destruction of infrastructure by Israeli bulldozers.
This places a legal and moral responsibility on the international community to halt these ongoing violations and provide urgent protection for the Palestinian people.
