Hamas condemns assassination of 3 journalists in southern Lebanon

BEIRUT, March 28 (YPA) – The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) condemned on Saturday the Israeli occupation army’s targeting of a vehicle carrying a press crew in southern Lebanon, which resulted in the martyrdom of three journalists while performing their field duties.

In a statement, the movement mourned the martyrs: Al-Manar TV correspondent Ali Shuaib, Al-Mayadeen TV correspondent Fatima Fatouni, and photographer Muhammad Fatouni, describing the attack as a “deliberate crime” that comes within a systematic approach to targeting media personnel in Lebanon and Palestine.

The movement considered that the occupation army’s admission of responsibility for the attack, despite the victims’ clear identity as journalists, represents a blatant disregard for international laws and the international community.

Hamas indicated that these violations are carried out with the cover and support of the United States, which contributes to the occupation escaping punishment.

The movement called on international human rights and media organizations to strongly condemn the attack, and to work to impose sanctions on the occupation and hold those responsible for these crimes accountable.
